Police are investigating three suspected murder cases across Kenya, including the discovery of a decomposed body of a woman found after a house fire in Narok, July 27.

The body, believed to be that of Joyce Nyanchama, 75, was discovered days after neighbors reported a foul odor coming from her locked home.

Police said the house was secured from the inside and only a metal bed with a burnt bedspread had caught fire, leaving the rest of the room intact.

Authorities suspect the woman was murdered before her body was set on fire in an attempted cover-up. She had last been seen July 24, according to police and neighbors.

Officers at the scene found only Nyanchama’s head, an ankle and one forearm intact. The body was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital morgue pending autopsy.

In a separate incident in Igoji, Meru County, Genesio Mbae, 62, was found dead outside his home with blood coming from his mouth and nose. He lived alone, and police said the motive for the suspected murder remains unclear. His body was also taken to a mortuary for examination.

Meanwhile, in Busia County, the body of an unidentified man with severe head injuries was discovered beside a red motorcycle early Sunday. Police believe a blunt object was used in the assault. The body was transferred to Busia County Referral Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.

Police in all three cases said no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
