Juja MP George Koimburi Found Dumped in Coffee Plantation After Alleged Abduction
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, stating they intend to speak with Koimburi once his condition stabilizes.

Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi was found unconscious on Monday morning, dumped in a coffee plantation in the Kibichoi area of Kiambu County.
According to eyewitnesses, Koimburi was discovered wearing the same navy-blue suit he had on when he was allegedly abducted outside a church in Kiambu on Sunday afternoon.
He was reportedly beaten by his abductors before being abandoned in the plantation. An ambulance rushed him to Plainsview Hospital near Ruiru town for treatment.
Koimburi’s wife, Ann Koimburi, confirmed that two unidentified men, dressed in plain clothes and posing as worshippers, forcefully dragged the MP into a waiting Subaru Forester with altered number plates.
“They didn’t identify themselves. They just grabbed him and drove off,” she said.
While the motive behind the abduction remains unclear, the incident comes at a time of escalating political tension between the Democratic Change Party (DCP), led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and the government.
Just a day earlier, police disrupted a DCP party meeting in Kakamega, resulting in chaos. DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala’s vehicle was also impounded during the crackdown.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has denied any involvement in Koimburi’s abduction but confirmed that the MP had been sought since Friday over allegations of land fraud and misuse of Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, stating they intend to speak with Koimburi once his condition stabilizes.
Gachagua has strongly condemned the incident, labeling it as part of a broader campaign of political persecution targeting DCP leaders and allies. “This is a clear attempt to intimidate and silence those who speak against the government,” he said.
As investigations continue, Kenyans are left questioning the growing pattern of politically charged confrontations and apparent intimidation of opposition figures.
The incident has sparked calls for transparency, justice, and accountability from both government and security agencies.
For now, the nation watches closely as authorities work to uncover the truth behind Koimburi’s mysterious abduction and the growing unrest surrounding Kenya’s political landscape.
