Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has raised concerns over the club’s deepening injury crisis, describing the situation as a “total emergency.”
The Italian coach spoke candidly about the team’s struggles ahead of their upcoming fixtures, lamenting the absence of key defensive players.
“We are in total emergency,” Ancelotti said during a press conference. “Alaba, Rüdiger, Militão, Carvajal… not available.”
The defensive woes at Real Madrid have significantly weakened the squad’s options, with injuries plaguing some of the team’s most crucial players.
Austrian center-back David Alaba and Brazilian defender Éder Militão have been sidelined for an extended period, while German international Antonio Rüdiger and Spanish right-back Dani Carvajal have also joined the list of absentees.
In response to the ongoing crisis, Ancelotti highlighted the difficulty of fielding a balanced squad when so many vital players are missing.
The Italian tactician emphasized that his preferred selections for key positions are simply unavailable.
“You think I wouldn’t like to use Valverde in midfield? Tchouaméni in midfield? Or Carvajal? Militão and Alaba? Of course, I would like it,” Ancelotti said, underscoring the challenges of compensating for these absences. “We have to continue with what we have.”
A Tactical Challenge for AncelottiThe injury crisis forces Ancelotti to rethink his tactical approach, with the squad’s depth being put to the test. The absence of multiple defenders leaves him with limited options, potentially requiring makeshift adjustments in key areas.
Midfielders such as Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde have already been deployed in unfamiliar roles to help stabilize the defense.
Tchouaméni, primarily a defensive midfielder, has been used as a center-back, while Valverde, known for his versatility, may continue to be deployed in various positions to cover the gaps.
Despite these challenges, Real Madrid remains competitive in domestic and international competitions. The squad’s resilience will be tested in the coming matches, with fans eagerly waiting to see how Ancelotti manages to navigate through this difficult period.
Madrid’s Next StepsWith crucial fixtures on the horizon, including La Liga and Champions League clashes, Ancelotti will have to make do with the resources at his disposal.
Real Madrid’s ability to cope with this defensive crisis could prove decisive in their pursuit of silverware this season. As the injury concerns persist, Madridistas will be hoping for a swift recovery for their sidelined stars, ensuring the team remains strong in their quest for glory.
