Uasin Gishu Journalists Mourn With Senator Jackson Mandago After the Loss of His Mother
The Mandago family expresses gratitude to all individuals who sent their condolence messages and prayers and offered their support as they prepare to bury their dear mother.

The Uasin Gishu Journalists Association members and officials together with Senator Jackson Mandago and his family members are mourning the death of Mama Esther Lelei who was Mandago’s mother. The association members visited the Senator’s home to express their condolences and provide support during this difficult period.
The association President James Gitaka led the group which included Vice President Edmond Kipngeno Treasurer Elvis Wasike and multiple county journalists. The people who came to visit the Senator shared their sympathy for him through this special visit during his time of sadness.

Mama Esther Lelei passed away while she was undergoing treatment at an Eldoret hospital. The Mandago family received news of her death which resulted in widespread mourning that extended to political leaders and organizations and Uasin Gishu County residents who live outside their community. Most people who knew her described her as a dignified elder because her life had a positive impact on both her immediate family members and the entire community.
The journalists delivered their condolences to the family while they expressed their support for Senator Mandago during his mourning period. They honored Mama Esther by describing her as a dedicated mother who devoted herself to raising her family. The family members reported that her values and wisdom and strength enabled her children to develop successful lives while she made a positive impact on the society.
James Gitaka the association chairperson explained that the media took responsibility to visit the mourning family to provide them with comfort from their loss. He stated that journalists function as community members who participate in both joyful and painful experiences which occur within their reporting area.
The association will keep the family in their thoughts and prayers which they believe will help the family find strength and comfort during their time of grief. The media members who spoke included Vice Chairperson Edmoind Kipngeno and Treasurer Elvis Wasike who both expressed solidarity with the Mandago family and all Kenyans who are mourning the death of Mama Esther.
Senator Mandago expressed gratitude for the visit because the journalists and other supporters had provided essential help to his family during their difficult time. He recognized that these acts of solidarity enable families to identify sources of hope during their most challenging times.
The burial of Mama Esther Lelei will take place on Monday February 10 at the family’s rural home located in Limnyimoi Village Uasin Gishu County. The burial will bring together family members and friends and community leaders and locals who want to show their last respects.
