Uasin Gishu County opens up 40km of new roads

Uasin Gishu Governor H.E Jonathan Bii through the department of Roads, Transport and Public Works has made major strides by grading over 200km of rural roads and opening more than 40km of new roads in a program he launched at Kapseret centre, Kapseret/Simat ward in Kapseret Sub County on 14th November 2022.
In his keynote address during the Jamhuri Celebration, Governor Bii reiterated that roads are an enabler of development and a driver of the economy by providing linkages between farmers and markets. He said the machinery has been allocated to every sub-county and will grade and dozing of various roads before the onset of rains in our County.
“My government is working with the national government and road agencies to uplift various roads to bitumen standards as well as make all other roads motorable all year round,” noted Governor Bii
While checking on the progress of ongoing works at Chepng’oror village in Ainabkoi /Olare ward, Roads County Executive Committee Member Eng. Joseph Lagat said the department is committed to ensuring that the ambitious plan which involves grading, dozing and drainage works is done within the timelines.
Eng. Lagat lauded his team from the department for working tirelessly to achieve their goals as he also asked residents to support the governor’s administration for the success of his post-election promises under the Nguzo Kimi manifesto.
