Uasin Gishu County Health Bill 2022 that will transform health care provision

In order to enhance service delivery in the health sector,the County Government of Uasin Gishu, Friday, held a public participation exercise on the Uasin Gishu County Health Bill 2022, aimed at providing the regulation and management of health care.

Speaking during the exercise at the multi purpose hall,Acting Chief Officer for Health Services Dr. Evans Kiprotich said that the Bill seeks to achieve the convergence of health care socio- economics and health-care responsibilities. This will be achieved by enabling development of programs to assist communities in protecting and improving their health, curb infectious disease transmission, and plan for natural disasters among other community health emerging issues.

” This Bill is informed by the National Government guidelines and will see improvement of healthcare services. It will also enhance disaster mitigation and improve the socio economic status of the residents, in addition to forming an integral segment in the ongoing policy and legal reforms in the health sector”, Dr Kiprotich said.

These changes are aimed at lowering public spending on healthcare.
