Tragic Road Accident on Eldoret-Nakuru Road Claims Four Lives

A head-on collision between a matatu and a 60-seater bus on the Eldoret-Nakuru Road this morning at approximately 5:00 am has tragically claimed the lives of four individuals.
The matatu, owned by Msamaria Shuttle Ltd and carrying 16 passengers, lost control and collided with the oncoming bus near the Hill Tea Area.
The driver of the matatu and three passengers perished at the scene. Nine additional passengers sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral Hospital. The deceased have also been transferred to the same facility.
“This accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety, especially during the current rainy season,” stated a spokesperson for the National Police Service. “We urge all motorists and road users to exercise heightened caution, prioritize safe driving practices, and adhere to traffic regulations.”
The National Police Service is currently investigating the cause of the accident. Further details, including the identities of the deceased and injured, are expected to be released soon.
