The stunning landscapes of Tinderet will serve as the backdrop for the highly anticipated Tinderet Barng’etuny Mountain Run National Championship on January 18, 2025.

Organized as part of the Magical Kenya Trail Series, this event promises to be a thrilling showcase of athleticism across various age groups and categories.

Starting bright and early, registration will commence at 5:00 AM, followed by a breakfast for officials and VIPs at 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, respectively.

The day will kick off with the senior men’s race at 8:00 AM, featuring a challenging 14-kilometer course that demands both speed and endurance.

Shortly thereafter, at 8:30 AM, senior women will take to the trails, aiming to conquer the same grueling distance. These races are expected to draw some of the country’s finest athletes, each vying for the title and the opportunity to represent Kenya in future international competitions.

As the morning progresses, the focus will shift to the younger participants. At 10:00 AM, girls aged 8-12 will compete in their 1-kilometer race, followed at 10:20 AM by the boys in the same age bracket.

These events are critical in fostering a culture of health and fitness among youth, encouraging them to stay active and engaged in sports.

The championship also emphasizes inclusivity, with various categories for younger athletes and veterans. From 10:35 AM to 11:50 AM, races for children aged 5-20 years and seniors aged 45 years and above will take place, highlighting the event’s commitment to community engagement and participation across all ages.

The climax of the event will occur at noon, featuring a unique 100-meter fun race for VIPs, which will serve to entertain gallery spectators and showcase local figures.

Award ceremonies, starting at 12:10 PM, will celebrate the accomplishments of participants across all categories, culminating with speeches from organizers and sponsors at 1:00 PM that will reflect on the day’s successes and future aspirations.
