Supermarket slashes prices for valentine Gifts

Despite economic hard times Uasin Gishu Residents have thronged supermarkets ,malls and other popular joints to buy Valentine Gifts for their loved ones.
Valentine’s Day, also known as Saint Valentine’s Day, is a day synonymous with couples adorned with red and Black garments and often exchange gifts, flowers and chocolates as a sign of their commitment to love.
A spot check by Hubzmedia however has identified that compared to last year most of the residents have decried hard economic times and have cut down on this year’s valentines Spending’s,
“This year I have managed to sell only a few flowers many people are complaining lack of money, Said a Flower vendor in Eldoret.
In some of the Malls however customers complained of high prices and would rethink of their plan to buy certain gifts for their loved ones,
“I came here to buy a present for my Husband This valentine’s day ,but then the prices are on the roof I have reconsidered I will not buy the present because the money i had budgeted for is not enough ” Mary a resident in Eldoret said.
At The New Yako Household supermarket along Oginga Odinga Street however the management has slashed prices for various valentine gifts allowing most of their customers to shower their loved ones with gifts,
“ Schools reopened just the other day, many people are still struggling with difficult economic times and this has informed the move by the management so slush prices for the various Valentine Gifts it’s a way of us celebrating with them and also allowing them shower their loved ones with special bouquet of flowers, chocolates , special drinks and other gifts available at our Yako Shops ” Said Francis Mberia a manager at one of the outlets.
Hundreds of Kenyans will throng the Nyayo national Stadium for the National prayers that will be led by President William Ruto.
