Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba and Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Saturday morning made an impromptu visit at the Kipchoge Keino stadium to check on its construction status.
Speaking after the tour, the CS expressed his displeasure over the slow pace of the exercise while putting the contractor on notice for what he termed as failure to act with speed in meeting with the set timelines.
He called for urgent audit of all stadiums in the country in order to ascertain how much was spent in the construction process.
Governor Bii on his part said that the delay has denied sports men and women a chance to compete at the stadium while noting that tax payers’ money has been spent and the project is still incomplete.

The renovation works at the 10,000 capacity multi-use Kipchoge Stadium has dragged on for over ten years .
The stadium is named after renown athlete Kipchoge Keino.
