Shisha crackdown continues!county director warns

The Uasin Gishu Director Alcoholic Drinks Control Board Mr. Koiya Arap Maiyo, has applauded joint efforts by his department ,The Kenya National Police and The County Inspectorate Service after conducting a successful joint operation targeting High end bars and nightclubs allowing the smoking of Shisha.
Several people were on Friday Night apprehended in the joint operation,
“we will intensify the fight against alcohol and drug abuse,Sisha is banned in Kenya , we will also not allow bars to operate without a license” Warned Koiya .
In 2017,Kenya implemented a comprehensive ban on shisha, including the use, import, manufacture ,sale,offer of sale,advertising,promotion distribution,and encouraging or facilitating its use.
Shisha is considered a gateway to the consumption of other hard drugs such as heroin and bhang.
Despite the ban in 2017, Shisha has found its way back into the Pubs and entertainment joints across the Country.
The Multi Agency crackdown operations against hard drugs and illicit brew will be intensified in the coming days.
