Safaricom has empowered over 120 entrepreneurs in the North Rift region through its “Grow with Safaricom Business” forum, aiming to fuel financial growth and innovation for small and medium-sized businesses.

Held under the theme “Fueling Financial Growth Through Innovation,” the event brought together MSMEs and large enterprises in Eldoret for engaging sessions on digitization, branding, and scaling up operations.

The forum served as a platform for entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and discover tools to streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and grow their businesses.

Peter Oyamo, Acting Tribe Lead for Small and Micro Businesses at Safaricom, emphasized the importance of secure business environments and personal branding.

“Every entrepreneur must ensure they operate in a secure space. Branding yourself professionally is just as important as branding your product,” he said during a media engagement forum.

Oyamo also highlighted the potential of Safaricom’s latest business packages, which allow entrepreneurs to install Wi-Fi at home and work remotely with ease.

The North Rift forum is part of a broader campaign marking Safaricom’s 18 years of supporting the Kenyan business ecosystem. Since March 2024, the initiative has reached over 1,000 businesses across the Coast, Nairobi, Greater Western, and Mt. Kenya regions.

Franklin Okay, Acting Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Safaricom PLC, noted that the initiative is focused on real-world business solutions.

“We’re building frameworks that support genuine financial progress and sharpen decision-making for business owners,” he said. “This is about helping businesses embrace technology to grow smarter and faster.”

The forum tackled real-time challenges faced by MSMEs, including digital adoption, market access, and building online brand visibility.

Entrepreneurs left the event with actionable strategies to digitize their operations, create strong brand identities, and tap into Safaricom’s growing suite of enterprise tools.

The “Grow with Safaricom Business” series continues to position Safaricom as a key driver of entrepreneurship in Kenya’s evolving digital economy.
