President William Ruto has held talks with Bloomberg founder Michael Bloomberg on investment, public health, clean energy and climate action as Kenya seeks to deepen partnerships with global institutions.
Ruto met Bloomberg on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where they discussed opportunities for collaboration in areas including public health, clean energy and climate change.
The President said Kenya welcomed Bloomberg’s interest in investing in the country, noting that its presence could help attract additional investors and highlight developments at the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
He also said Bloomberg’s global network could help showcase investment opportunities and economic developments in Kenya and across Africa.
The talks also explored plans to establish a Green Technology Accelerator Hub in Kenya. The proposed hub is expected to support innovation, help scale green technologies and contribute to Africa’s transition towards a more sustainable economy.
Ruto and Bloomberg further agreed to work together on the second Clean Cooking Summit, which Kenya is scheduled to host in January 2027.
The partnership is expected to support efforts to expand access to clean cooking technologies and reduce reliance on traditional cooking fuels, while improving livelihoods.
The meeting adds to Kenya’s efforts to attract international investment and strengthen partnerships around climate action, clean energy and sustainable development.
