Rift Valley Mp’s dare to summon Inspector General of police!

A section of Rift Valley legislators have besought the inspector general of police Eng. Japheth Koome to ensure there is peace and security for all Kenyans failure to which he will be summoned to parliament to explain reasons for not discharging his constitutional responsibilities.
Speaking Monday from Uasin Gishu County, the legislators led by Uasin Gishu Senator Hon. Jackson Mandago, condemned the Monday demonstrations and similar protests witnessed in various parts of the Country and urged the inspector general of police to use the necessary force in order to restore law and order.
“The things we saw in Kisumu where they stormed a CAK meeting is not picketing but breaking of our laws, We call on the inspector general of police, as a holder of an independent office, he requires no instruction from anybody to discharge his duties. We are also telling him if you don’t discharge your duties and Kenyans properties get destroyed, parliament will summon the IG to explain on any failure,The constitution mandates Him to guard and protect the lives and property of every Kenyan.” Said Uasin Gishu senator, Jackson Mandago.
The opposition leaders have been asked to respect the constitution up to the later highlighting the various roles and responsibilities given to the different agencies, the leaders from the North rift region called on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to bring to account those responsible for causing violence, destruction of property and inciting the public.
“We as leaders in the Kenya Kwanza government want to tell those in Azimio to respect the constitution of Kenya. They have insinuated that it is their constitutional right, which we don’t refuse but they should quote the whole constitution, where they should demonstrate without causing violence but with peace. The constitution also calls for NCIC to investigate any utterances on incitement to violence. We call on the Azimio brigade to read the constitution in full and implement it as it is supposed to be.” Added the senator.
Turbo Mp Hon. Janet Sitienei echoed the same sentiments calling on the Azimio leaders to picket without causing violence or any form of harm to any person going about their day to day activities.
Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat, Kesses Mp Julius Ruto and Mosop legislator Abraham Kirwa regretted the Monday demonstrations saying it had a serious negative economic impact, with many of the investors choosing other destinations,
“We have lost many investors who perceive our country as politically unstable at this rate we cannot realize economic recovery,Said Mosop MP Abraham Kirwa.
On His Part Soy legislator David Kiplagat underscored that no one was above the law and that Azimio brigades should be dealt with decisively for staging unlawful Protests .
