Raphael Tuju Explains Circumstances Behind His Disappearance

Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has publicly shared details surrounding the events that led to his sudden disappearance. He explained to the public his reasons for disappearing from sight before returning to his family. Tuju explained to the media that he first detected his pursuers after unmarked cars followed him outside his residence which sat on the border of Karen and Kiambu for multiple days. The man went to police because he feared for his life after he witnessed unmarked cars following him.
Tuju reported that he faced another block when he attempted to reach the Karen roundabout after he reported the suspicious driving activities. He successfully dodged the unmarked car which attempted to stop him through Nandi Road when he used another road. Tuju successfully escaped capture when he used his deep expertise of Karen roads to handle the situation until he lost all vehicles which had been following him.
Tuju decided to leave his vehicle behind when he reached the point where he could not drive his car safely. He decided to walk because he had already reported the danger to police officers. During his two days of disappearance, he stayed at the location where he departed from Karen to Kiambu.
During this period, Tuju was hosted by a local family, whom he praised for their hospitality and care. The family provided him shelter without discrimination because of their different community background until he chose to return home to his family in Karen.
Through his statement, Tuju showed his gratitude towards Kenyans who showed great concern about his public disappearance incident. He acknowledged the outpouring of support from the public and emphasized the reassurance he felt knowing that many people were following the situation closely.
