The digitalization of services across the country has made it easier for citizens to access various government services online.

According to the Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology, Eng. John Tanui, youths should take full advantage of the Jitume Hubs being established by the government.

These hubs provide free internet access, enabling young people to create jobs online.

He emphasized that youths can showcase their content online, reaching a wider audience in a shorter time.

Speaking at the Eldoret Rift Valley Technical Training Institute and during a town hall meeting in Uasin Gishu, Eng. Tanui encouraged young people to view the challenges they face as opportunities for growth.

He pointed out that the Jitume Labs offer numerous job opportunities, urging the youth to seize these chances.

The PS also stressed the importance of teamwork to ensure that the country is digitally prepared for the future.

Mercy Chepkurui, a local leader, added that the county has ensured the automation of all services to make them more accessible to residents.

Eng. Tanui further noted that the ministry is working closely with TVET institutions across the country and Members of Parliament to establish digital hubs that will enable communities to access government services more easily.

Additionally, the PS cautioned youths seeking online jobs abroad to verify information before signing contracts to avoid being scammed.

Plans are underway by the Ministry of ICT to equip these centers with computers to enhance learning opportunities.
