President William Ruto has assured that Kenya will develop from a developing country into a first-world nation in the next three decades. Addressing the 70th anniversary of the African Inland Church (AIC) Ziwani at Starehe Boys Centre in Nairobi County, the President indicated that his government has already laid the foundation to achieve this ambitious shift by the year 2055.
The President added that this long-term vision is underpinned on unity, economic growth, and strong leadership, further noting that Kenya has been a developing nation for much too long. He added that his government was set to turn this around through the implementation of sustainable policies that foster industrialization, innovation, and inclusive development.
Dr. Ruto further revealed that he has met with the country’s leading national leaders, including former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Azimio leader Raila Odinga, and KANU Chairman Gideon Moi — all of whom have united with the broad-based government to drive national development. He emphasized that bipartisan cooperation is crucial in leading the nation towards economic reformation and enduring stability.
“The block we lay today will solidify Kenya into a prosperous, modern nation where no one will be left behind,” Ruto declared. “Our dream is to enrich all Kenyans through industriousness, innovation, and togetherness.”
The President reiterated that the strategic direction of his government revolves around infrastructure development, promotion of local industries, and women and youth empowerment through targeted programs. He reiterated that the schemes are designed to create opportunities that will enhance the living standard of millions of Kenyans.
During the same function, President Ruto further announced a new partnership between the national government and the Nairobi City County aimed at assisting in addressing long-standing trash collection and waste management issues in the capital. The partnership aims to make Nairobi one of the cleanest, most sustainable cities on the continent, in fulfilling the government’s vision for modernization and improved public health.
Later, while addressing a service at the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Kenya (AIPCA), President Ruto also addressed issues related to the upcoming 2027 elections. He urged leaders and citizens in general to focus their minds on national development, rather than tribal politics.
As part of the bid to enhance youth empowerment, the President stated that 100,000 young people between the ages of 19 and 29 years will be interviewed for the NTOYA Program on Monday. In his words, the program, which has a budgetary provision of KSh 5 billion, will provide financial and technical support to young innovators and young entrepreneurs across the country.
Ruto reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to establishing an equitable economy, nurturing national unity and putting Kenya on a steady path towards becoming a first-world nation by 2055.
