The delivery of mobility aid devices to more than 500 persons living with disabilities (PWDs) in Nakuru County brought joy and renewed hope to Elburgon since the devices would help recipients achieve greater independence while improving their daily life experience. The devices were donated by Through The Roof a UK-based Christian disability charity who worked together with Dr. Bishop David Gatua of Abundant Hope of Glory Church Elburgon.

The beneficiaries who received support after years of needing help to move described their experience as transformational which would enable them to engage in their daily activities and join community activities.

During the wheelchair distribution exercise launch in Elburgon Special Elected MP Harold Kipchumba Kimuge requested that both county and national governments make all public buildings accessible through compliance with structural policies designed for persons with disabilities. He stressed that these initiatives serve as vital tools which will empower PWDs to achieve their rights through better resource access.

The call was echoed by Nakuru Woman Representative Hon. Liza Chelule and Deputy Governor David Kones who urged all elected leaders to prioritize the needs of persons living with disabilities in development planning to ensure inclusive growth across the county.
