The irate residents brought down two houses belonging to notorious suspects of the illicit brew.
“Our chiefs, village elders and Nyumba kumi leaders have done more than enough to fight those engaging in the sale of illicit brew within rehema ,However everytime they are arrested they are immediately released and upon returning back to the community they begin to threaten those behind their arrests,”Said one of the village elders .
The Locals have also complained of a spike in the insecurity within Rehema,
“We have been experiencing many cases of insecurity, house break- in and robbery, this has been attributed to the sale of the illicit brew, and upon demolishing some of the houses we found some of the suspected stolen items” They Claimed.
Police officers from Kesses Sub county have since visited the scene , however the Kapseret Sub County police Commander could not immediately respond to Hubzmedia over the status of the ongoing demonstrations.
Last week the Uasin Gishu County Commander Benjamin Mwanthi declared a total war against all forms of illicit brew within the County.
