Police officers in Nanyuki apprehended marijuana worth Ksh 5 million, The illicit substance was seized from a Fielder vehicle along the Nanyuki-Meru highway.

In a significant blow to local drug trafficking, police in Nanyuki Saturday  intercepted a Fielder vehicle transporting marijuana worth a staggering Ksh 5 million, Laikipia County Police Commander John Nyoike confirmed today.

“Our officers on routine patrol along the Nanyuki-Meru highway made the discovery,” Commander Nyoike stated, commending the vigilance of his team.

Two suspects, apprehended at the scene, are currently in police custody and will be arraigned in court next week. Nyoike did not disclose their identities, citing ongoing investigations.

The Commander issued a stern warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade. “This seizure sends a clear message: we will not tolerate the peddling of narcotics that poison our communities and endanger our youth,” he declared. “The relentless pursuit of such criminal activities remains a top priority for the Laikipia County Police Department.”

Nyoike emphasized the unwavering commitment of law enforcement to ensuring public safety. “We are determined to dismantle these trafficking networks and make our streets safer for everyone,” he concluded. “The well-being of our community remains our paramount concern.”
