Politicians clash over suspected land grabbing saga at Shauri Estate!

The Ownership of a  two acre piece of land estimated  at Millions  of  shillings In Shauri Moyo estate ,in the  outskirts of  Eldoret town continues to draw mixed reactions ,Days after a legislator blamed  a section of  leaders and business people for orchestrating a plot to grab the land  said  to belong to a church and a Children’s Home.

Three Days after  Huruma ward Member  of  County Assembly  Hon Kimani Wanjohi led a section of the  shauri  residents in demanding  Business man and  shauri estate  community elder David Waweru , Huruma ward Administrative  assistant and politician  Harun Maina  and other influential individuals to relegate the said land to the Church,The  accused have defended themselves  against the false  accusation.

Speaking to the Hubzmedia  the accused now claim the land in question does not belong to the Church and that there exists original documents supporting their assertion.

The two claim the area MCA  Hon Wanjohi may be involved in the grabbing saga after his personal assistant was spotted fencing off a section of the Land.

“We have given the MCA 48 hours to demolish the semi-permanent structures that were erected in the land  under  question ,if  he truly  believes the land  belongs to the church why would he then be involved in erecting the illegal structures”Said Harun Maina.

The Village elder has confirmed the matter was investigated by the Directorate of criminal Investigations and that parties await a decision by the Lands Board over the ownership of the land in question.

“All the parties  who  claim ownership of the land are  aware  that this matter  was investigated  by Eldoret DCI officers  ,and  we  all await  an adjudication  from the Lands Board”Affirmed David  Waweru.

The accused have castigated the area MCA of invoking their names in the Land grab saga.

The Church has insisted they hold genuine documents and warned unsuspecting members of the public against buying the land from cartels  as plans were underway to construct a vocational training institute that will benefit the public.

The Church has  confirmed  having leased a  section of the land to two individuals and that well connected grabbers were trying to take advantage.
