Mwiruti Secondary School emerged victorious in the Uasin Gishu County KSSSA football championships, clinching their title with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Anesense High School in the finals.

The match ended in a tense 2-2 draw at full time, but Mwiruti Secondary’s resilience shone through in extra time, securing their well-deserved victory.

Meanwhile, Moi Girls claimed the girls’ football championship with a dominant 2-0 victory over Ngeria Girls, showcasing their prowess on the field and securing their spot in the upcoming regionals.

In another exciting development, Koiwoarusen Girls qualified for the regionals in girls’ rugby after a spirited 10-5 victory over Tapsagoi in the finals. Led by captain Brenda Asingwa, who scored a decisive brace, Koiwoarusen Girls demonstrated their speed and determination, impressively defeating strong opponents despite having trained for less than two months.

In the boys’ category, Chebisaas Boys High School capitalized on their numerical advantage, forcing former champions St. Michael Kipsombe to field only four players due to allegations of ineligible players. This advantage propelled Chebisaas Boys to a resounding 35-0 victory.

In volleyball, New Light Academy asserted their dominance by winning both the boys’ and girls’ categories, securing their county titles and earning their place in the Rift Valley region KSSSA games scheduled for July 16th-20th in Bomet County.

The boys’ team defeated Simat in a triple-set victory, while the girls’ team triumphed over AIC Chuiyat with an equally impressive performance.
