Moses Kuria, former Cabinet Secretary, has stepped down from his role as a Senior Economic Advisor to President William Ruto.
In a social media post, Kuria announced his resignation after meeting with the President, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve in government.
Kuria did not elaborate on his future plans but indicated he would pursue personal interests.
“This evening, I met with President William Ruto, who graciously accepted my resignation from government,” he said.
He added, “I thank President Ruto for the privilege of serving as Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry for 11 months, Public Service, Delivery and Performance Management for 9 months, and Senior Economic Advisor for the past 10 months.”
Kuria highlighted his contribution to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which he co-designed with Ruto for the 2022 election. “As I move on, I am proud of the work we did to implement this vision. Long Live Kenya.”
Kuria’s resignation follows his appointment as a Senior Advisor to Ruto’s Council of Economic Advisors after losing his Cabinet position in 2024, amid Gen-Z-led protests that prompted Ruto to dismiss all his ministers.
