The announcement was made by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiplagat Kotut and Council Chairman Prof. Noah Midamba, bringing relief to employees who have faced months of uncertainty over their payments.
Addressing staff in a recent meeting, the university leadership assured them that salaries would be disbursed in line with the newly adopted return-to-work formula.
The payment delay had heightened tensions within the institution, but the new administration is now taking steps to resolve the matter.
Prof. Kotut, who took over in an acting capacity following Prof. Isaac Kosgey’s compulsory leave, reiterated the university’s commitment to creating a stable working environment.
He emphasized that settling the arrears is a key priority in restoring trust and ensuring smooth operations.
Beyond financial concerns, Moi University’s leadership is also tackling long-standing academic challenges. Among the pressing issues they plan to address are students overstaying in their programs and cases of missing marks, which have caused significant frustration.
Prof. Kotut and Prof. Midamba have pledged to introduce efficient systems to curb these problems, improving the academic experience for students.
The new administration has further vowed to restore Moi University’s reputation as a leading institution of higher learning.
With these reforms, the leadership aims to strengthen the university’s credibility and foster a conducive environment for both staff and students.
As Moi University embarks on these changes, stakeholders remain hopeful that the new leadership will successfully implement their promises, setting the institution on a path to stability and excellence.
