Liverpool FC are on the brink of completing a high-profile signing as negotiations with Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong enter the final stages.

Sources close to the club have confirmed that talks over personal terms are at an advanced stage, with an agreement on the player’s contract nearly finalized.

Frimpong, currently at Bayer Leverkusen, has shown strong interest in joining the Premier League giants, and the Merseyside club is now finalizing key details such as salary and contract length.

The player’s enthusiasm for the move has been clear from the outset, providing Liverpool with added momentum in pushing the deal forward.

Behind the scenes, Liverpool have also been in direct communication with Bayer Leverkusen since Monday to discuss the financial terms of the transfer.

The German club is reportedly open to the transfer, provided Liverpool meet the €35 million release clause in Frimpong’s contract.

The 24-year-old defender has enjoyed a stellar season in the Bundesliga, playing a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s domestic success. Known for his blistering pace, attacking prowess, and defensive reliability, Frimpong would offer manager Jürgen Klopp a dynamic option on the right flank as Liverpool look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

With the agreement on personal terms nearly in place, the final hurdle remains the activation of the release clause. If all goes according to plan, the Reds could announce Frimpong as their first summer signing within days, further signaling their intent to rebuild and compete at the highest level in the coming season.

Fans are already buzzing with anticipation as Frimpong’s arrival would add depth and energy to Liverpool’s defensive line, especially following speculation over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s potential shift into a midfield role.
