AC Milan have been dealt a significant blow with the news that star defender Kyle Walker will be out of action for several weeks following surgery on a fractured right elbow.
The club confirmed the injury on Wednesday, leaving fans and management concerned about the team’s defensive lineup during a crucial phase of the season.
Walker, who joined AC Milan in a high-profile transfer last summer, sustained the injury during a recent training session.
The 34-year-old English right-back, known for his pace, versatility, and experience, underwent successful surgery to address the fracture, but the recovery timeline means he will miss a string of important matches, including upcoming Serie A fixtures and potentially the next round of the UEFA Champions League.
“Kyle Walker has undergone surgery on a fractured right elbow, and we expect him to be sidelined for several weeks,” AC Milan stated in an official release.
The club did not specify an exact return date, but sources suggest the former Manchester City captain could be out for at least six to eight weeks, depending on his rehabilitation progress.
Walker’s absence is a major setback for Milan, who have relied on his leadership and defensive solidity this season.
Manager Sergio Conceicao will now need to reshuffle his backline, with options like Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi likely to step in at right-back.
