Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County – Simba Arati, the Governor of Kisii County and Deputy Party Leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), on Monday rallied fervent supporters at a political rally in Eldoret, debunking talk of divisions in ODM ahead of the 2027 General Election.
While addressing his supporters, Arati repeated his pledge of loyalty to the leader of his party, ODM, leader Oburu Odinga, while stating that his party has strong roots across the country, including Nyanza, Coast, Western, and parts of Rift Valley.
“The ODM party is quite strong in Rift Valley Province, Nyanza Province, Coast Province, Northeastern Province, and also fairly popular in Central Kenya Province,” he said, noting the national presence of the party.
The governor urged the people of Uasin Gishu and the citizens of Eldoret City to adopt inclusive politics and said that the party, ODM, is open to receiving leaders from every possible background who are willing to operate within the party’s structure.
Arati rallied women, youth, and seniors to take an active part in the efforts to make ODM a strong political force and considered women the pillars of every political movement.
“So, women, you are people of great value and respect. I want you to hold firmly to the party. Let women speak freely; let us build the party together. Mothers, do not fear—I am here as your defender. I will stand with women, youth, and the elderly to ensure their voices are heard,” he said.
In addition, the ODM Deputy Party Leader emphasized the necessity of registering to vote, especially among the youth, pointing out that change through a ballot box and not promises is achieved. This is enhanced by the call for all supporters to register as both voters and members in readiness for the 2027 elections.
The Masaai gathering also demonstrated ODM’s commitment to unity and inclusivity, with Arati promising to collaborate with ODM leaders and supporters to ensure that the party is strong and intact.
