Member of Parliament for Kiharu, Ndindi Nyoro, also serving as the chair budget and appropriation committee, has announced the completion of the Budget Policy Statement for the fiscal year 2024-2025.

Speaking after attending a service at the AIC Church Annex, Nyoro emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting farmers, stating, “As a government, we want to help farmers earn from their sweat.” He highlighted allocations, including Sh 7 billion for the Coffee Cherry Fund to ensure guaranteed maximum returns for farmers.
Nyoro further outlined allocations of Sh 26 billion for the employment of 26,000 interns on permanent and pensionable terms and Sh 12 billion for the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) to expand electricity access nationwide.
He emphasized the allocation of Sh 50 million to every constituency for electricity connectivity and assured support for vulnerable groups, ensuring payments through M-Pesa.
Regarding housing, Nyoro disclosed a Sh 64 billion levy to accelerate affordable housing projects, fostering job creation. Addressing passport delays, he earmarked Sh 32 billion for efficiency improvements, pledging swift resolutions in the upcoming fiscal year.
Senator Jackson Mandago of Uasin Gishu urged Kenyans to endorse the new health scheme, emphasizing its potential to provide quality, affordable healthcare. Meanwhile, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi cautioned National Cereals Board officials against soliciting bribes from farmers for fertilizer distribution, warning of consequences if malpractice persists.
