The MP, known for his outspoken nature, firmly warned the implicated NCPB officials of swift legal action.
Kapseret member of Parliament Oscar Kipchumba Sudi has warned National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB)officials engaging in corrupt practices in the distribution of subsidized fertilizer.
Addressing congregants at Aic Fellowship Annex, Honorable Sudi, the vocal MP and recipient of the ‘Best Member of Parliament’ award in Uasingishu County for exemplary utilization of development funds, raised the alarm regarding the presence of cartels within the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), who are now extorting from farmers.
Pointing out the troubling scenario at Lessos NCPB, where farmers are compelled to offer bribes for access to government-subsidized fertilizer, he emphasized the need for fairness, stating, ‘There is a problem at the NCPB; due to long queues, farmers are compelled to part with money, to expedite the receipt of subsidized fertilizer.
All farmers deserve equitable treatment and respect, even in fertilizer distribution.’ The MP, known for his outspoken nature, firmly warned the implicated NCPB officials of swift legal action.”
