Kesses member of parliament Julius Ruto has called out the Teacher Service Commission for giving out a go ahead for the transfer of over 100 teachers without replacement.
Ruto has said the transfer of the teachers will leave behind a great deficit in the public schools resulting in a great deterioration of the quality of education in the schools.
“There is a great number of qualified teachers who are not employed. It is sad that the Teachers Service Commission does not consider the well-being of students. Why can’t the commission take this opportunity and employ teachers to fill this gap?” said Ruto.
The member of parliament wants the Chief Executive Officer of TSC, Nancy Macharia, to answer to the parliamentary committee why such decisions have been made without proper considerations.
Additionally, Ruto has pleaded to the government to ensure that all public schools receive full capitation to ease learning activities.
“Finances are needed for the smooth running of our schools,my plea to the government is that it should ensure that all schools are well financed and on time to reduce the rate of children being sent out of school for fee arrears as well as take care of bills,”added Ruto.
