Kenya Police Bullets chairman Nyale Munga has expressed optimism that the team is ready to fight for continental glory in the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers.

The FKF Women’s Premier League champions start their journey on Thursday, September 4, 2025. They face Uganda’s Kampala Queens in their first game at Nyayo National Stadium. The Bullets find themselves in Group A where they will be competing with Eritrea’s Denden FC.

The competition has attracted strong teams from the region. Group B features defending champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), Burundi’s Top Girls Academy, and Rayon Sports WFC from Rwanda. Group C is led by Tanzania’s JKT Queens, who are joined by South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars and Zanzibar’s JKU Princess.

The team is well prepared and ready to go, Munga said. He praised the work done by goalkeeper coach Beldine Odemba, saying that the players had been subjected to tough training. He believed playing home gives the Bullets an extra push in their title chase.

Run girls are prepared for the job,” Munga said. “We have done our research, and we respect all our rivals. No team will be under-rated. With the support of our fans and Odemba’s leadership, I believe we can win this tournament and secure qualification.”.

Munga mobilized the fans to come out in large numbers to Nyayo Stadium and Ulinzi Complex. He explained that the energy of the fans will push the players to work extra hard and propel them to victory.

To Bullets, the campaign is personal. Last year in Addis Ababa, they came so close to making it through. One goal against CBE in the last match took away their opportunity. That painful experience now fuels them.

This time, the players know what is at stake. With home ground advantage, proper leadership, and learning from past mistakes, the Bullets are bound to capitalize on their opportunity.

The journey will not be easy, but the Kenyan champions are approaching the tournament with faith and appetite. To them, the CECAFA title goes beyond trophies. It is redemption, a step into continental football, and a chance to make history.
