You will be cursed;Kalenjin Elders warn off same sex marriages
The Kalenjin Myoot Council of elders has warned the youth engaging in unnatural carnal relationships saying they risk attracting a curse upon their lives.
Led by their chairman Alex Mursi the elders warned against increased cases of men having sexual affairs with fellow men as well as women having sexual intercourse with other women especially in learning Institutions.
“This has never happened in our time, as Kalenjin elders the issue of LGBTQ can and will never be condoned, we warn our children against such acts as they will invoke a curse upon themselves,”Said Mursi while speaking to the press.
“Those who are thinking of joining this group I strongly advise them against such a move, it is against our traditions and even our religious beliefs and we will not allow our children to practice this foreign culture,”added John Seii another Elder.
The Myoot elders have welcomed the recent remarks by the President ,Dr William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua who emphasized that Kenya was a God fearing Nation with strong Cultural values and would not allow Same Sex marriages,
“We support president Ruto who in no uncertain terms made it clear that this Country will not welcome the issue of LGBTQ as recently witnessed in some of our courts”, They said.
The Myoot has urged religious leaders to continue preaching strongly against same sex marriages in the country.
Kenya’s Supreme court allowed for the registration of the LGBTQ organizations, a controversial judgement that has been slammed by a section of members of parliament.
