Green Circle Foundation Targets 1M trees, as it empowers widows!

Kenyans have been urged to plant a tree during this rainy season.
According to Catherine Kirui Ntinyari the founder and CEO of The Green Circle Foundation, this will help the Country achieve 10 percent forest cover and reduce the effects of climate change.
“Climate change has affected us badly; we are encouraging the public to plant/grow trees, especially during this rainy season. Our vision and mission as a foundation is to plant one million trees per year. This is attainable if we include other stakeholders,” said Kirui while speaking to Hubzmedia after planting trees at Central Primary School in Eldoret town.
She says this is the only way that will help the Country fight climate Change.
“I want to call upon Kenyans to make it a habit that if we cut one tree we plant two, and if someone is having a birthday he or she should strive to plant trees on their birthdays ,” added Kirui.
Kirui says the Green Circle Foundation focuses on sensitizing school children, and youth groups, not only on the need to plant trees but also grow them.

“We visited Central primary school in Uasin Gishu, Eldoret where we donated sanitary towels and planted trees , sensitizing the students on how to conserve the environment. We taught them how to plant/grow trees and their importance. We also distributed tree seedlings to children so that they plant them in their homes, we will award those who take good care of them” Kirui added.
The Organization also seeks to eradicate poverty; currently it is identifying and supporting widows who have been disregarded in the community.
“Other than being advocates of environmental conservation, we also support the most vulnerable in the community through empowerment programs targeted at eradicating poverty,” Kirui opined.
Green Circle Foundation is an Environmental initiative, Non-Profit Making Foundation, Advocating for Environmental conservation, Sensitizing on the effects of Climate change and Global warming.
