Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused the government of trying to stop him and his team from accessing Narok Town, where he had been scheduled to campaign for the DCP Party candidate for Narok Ward, Hon. Douglas Masikonde.
He said in a strongly worded statement that “clear instructions had been issued by this cowardly and brutal regime” to block his entry and disrupt his political activities. But he also hailed the unity and resolve of the people, who he said were “stronger than all roadblocks, than all bullets, than all stones, than all teargas… and then any dictator in the world.”
He said the locals guided him through village routes unknown to the police, allowing him to make what he described as a triumphant entry into Narok Town, where he was welcomed by thousands of jubilant DCP supporters.
He goaded his opponents: “How can you defeat me in my game?” and celebrated what he described as the victory of the villagers, asserting that their actions resumed the primacy of the people’s will.
The former DP said further that the coming 27th November 2025 by-election would clearly show the people’s voice, adding that no amount of “blood money, police brutality or police excessive force” would intimidate Kenyans.
He thanked the people of Narok, especially the youths, for being firm, saying the will of the people would never be overturned. He concluded by saying, “Kenya is not your ordinary African Country turned into a monarch!”
