A trio of infamous robbers, known for their ruthless attacks, has been apprehended following a meticulously executed police operation, bringing relief to a community terrorized by their criminal exploits.

Kelvin Baraza Andayi, alias Kevoo, Titus Mutuku Maingi, alias Tush, and Jack Wilshere Kimathi, alias Jack, are now in custody, facing charges related to a violent robbery at Sanergy Limited Company EPZ in Kinanie, Athi-River, on February 23, 2025.

The audacious heist saw the three suspects, accompanied by two accomplices still at large, storm the facility armed with crude weapons.

Acting with chilling precision, they overpowered workers, subjecting them to brutal assaults before binding and holding them hostage.

The robbers looted a fridge, a microwave, two lorry batteries, two backloader tractor batteries, and a generator, loading their haul into a pickup truck before fleeing the scene.

Determined to bring the perpetrators to justice, Athi-River detectives launched an exhaustive investigation. Forensic evidence and relentless pursuit led them to a rented house in Kamulu, where the ringleader, Andayi, was arrested.

A search of his hideout uncovered damning evidence, including a Beretta pistol, a pocket phone, beige and green tactical trousers, six assorted SIM cards, and other incriminating items.

With Andayi in custody, the investigation gained momentum. Cornered and out of options, he guided detectives to Gimu in Athi-River, where Maingi and Kimathi were swiftly apprehended.

The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the case, though the search continues for the remaining suspects still on the run.

The recovered stolen items are now held as exhibits in the ongoing investigation, while the trio undergoes processing ahead of their arraignment. Authorities are confident that further leads will result in additional arrests, ensuring all those involved face justice.
