In a proactive move to ensure a safe and joyous festive season, Uasin Gishu security officials have announced a comprehensive plan in partnership with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA). The initiative aims to curb road accidents, a common concern during the holiday rush.
Leading the charge, Turbo Sub-county OCPD Edward Masibo declared a zero-tolerance stance towards traffic violations. “We have deployed a joint force of traffic and NTSA officers to strictly enforce all road rules,” he stated during a press briefing. This includes cracking down on speeding, overloading of vehicles, and reckless driving.
Recognizing the increased demand for security during the festive period, OCPD Masibo confirmed the cancellation of all police leave until the New Year. “Our officers will be on high alert to maintain public order and prevent criminal activities,” he assured.
Masibo emphasized the crucial role of public cooperation in ensuring a successful festive season. He urged citizens to report any suspicious activity or potential security threats to the authorities. “We guarantee confidentiality and appreciate any information that helps us keep our communities safe,” he said.
For Kenyans embarking on holiday journeys, Masibo offered cautious advice. “Safety should be your top priority,” he stressed. He advised passengers to avoid overloaded vehicles, exercise patience on the roads, and plan their trips well in advance.
For those leaving their homes unattended during the holidays, Masibo offered a final security tip. “Take necessary precautions to safeguard your property from burglaries,” he advised. This includes installing proper locks, informing trusted neighbors, and avoiding displaying valuables.
By proactively addressing potential risks and encouraging community engagement, Uasin Gishu authorities hope to create a secure and enjoyable festive season for all residents and visitors
