Students from Eldoret National Polytechnic pursuing the Accounting Technicians Diploma today paid an educational visit to the offices of the Kenya Revenue Authority as part of their practical learning experience.

During the visit, the students were guided by officers Mr. Denis Okwayo and Madam Gladys Koech, who took them through several departments within the authority and explained how each section operates in the process of tax administration and revenue collection in the country.

The trainers highlighted the roles played by different departments within KRA, including taxpayer services, compliance, and revenue collection, while also explaining how modern digital systems are used to enhance efficiency and transparency in tax management.
The students also had an opportunity to interact with the officers, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of how the authority operates in supporting the country’s economic development.

However, due to restrictions on taking photographs and recording videos within the KRA premises, the TENP Media team was not granted permission to conduct interviews or take independent recordings. The team only relied on recordings that were allowed and conducted during the training session.

The visit forms part of the institution’s efforts to expose students to real working environments and bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical experience in the field of accounting and taxation.
