Eldoret Based Human Right Activist Kimutai Kirui

An Eldoret based human right activist Kimutai Kirui has  announced his withdrawal  from the planned protests by parents and students  who have been demanding justice over the  Finland  and  Canada  airlift program marred by corruption.

While addressing the Press  in Eldoret, Kimutai noted with concern that the protests  had  been politicized hence  the need to disengage  himself  from the quest ,

“I have  submitted a letter to OCS Eldoret Central police , the  DCI and other  relevant  security  agencies notifying them of  my withdrawal from the ongoing protests ,I will not  take part in any  future  demos in this  regard” Stated  Kimutai

Kimutai observed  that Wednesday’s  planned  demos   were ill intended  to malign the name of the  Head  of  state and other senior government officers

“The demonstrators have printed  T-shirts  bearing the pictures of the head of  state  and I wish not to be part of this  process , mine was a quest  informed by the  rule  of law and within the confines of the law to push the  relevant  government  agencies to take action, this far with thank the  government agencies as some of the accused persons have already been arrested and  the matter is active  in court”Opined Kimutai.

The vocal activist  has distanced  himself  with claims of  having  received a bribe of KSh200,000 from  the  Uasin Gishu Senator  Jackson Mandago who is the main accused person in the  ongoing  court  case,

“I am neither  a prosecutor nor a  magistrate nor  even a witness in the  case to  demand  or  solicit for a bribe ,the parents  and their  students  are the main complainants, I therefore cannot  influence in anyway the ongoing case , the matter is  at the  discretion of the court”

We have prosecuted  this case for the public  good ,as  a lead petitioner  in the  First Choice Recruitment and  Consultancy  agency ,we  thank the  Cabinet  Secretary for labour  Florence  Bore  who has  cautioned Kenyans against seeking the  recruitment  services of the First Choice  Company , this is  an achievement  we  pride ourselves in as we  continue to push  for  social justice .Added Kimutai

A section of the parents  affected  by the airlift program are  disunited in the course to continue with the street demonstrations .
