Kenya’s Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua ,Friday graced the launch of the BT Cotton planting in Aldai Constituency by Rivatex Company.
The Company hopes more farmers will engage in the production of the raw materials to boost the company’s operations.
The Managing Director Rivatex, Prof. Thomas Kipkurgat says more than half of the cotton used at the company is imported hence raising the production cost at the Company,
“If more of our farmers will engage in the growth of the BT cotton will not only reduce the operations cost but will ensure more of our farmers benefit by selling the cotton to the company ,we have a huge demand for the raw materials, “Said Kipkurgat.
The Company has continued to engage farmers across the county to double up their efforts in the production of cotton.
