Candidates in drought stricken counties to benefit from school feeding program

The  Government  has  launched the School feeding programs in  drought stricken counties in order to enable  candidates  in the  affected  counties to sit for their national examinations.

Evans Achoki The  Eastern Region Commissioner has  said  the program will ensure  all the candidates will have  a chance to sit for their national examination,

Over  4 Million Kenyans are  food insecure with 29 counties affected by severe drought .

President William Ruto has indicated that the Kenya  government is in need of  a further Ksh 10 B to assist  families  affected by drought ,relief  food  worth ksh2B has  already been  released to the affected people across  the 29 counties .

A total of 1.6 million children in 4,048 schools have benefited  under the school meals program.
