French side AS Monaco are making bold moves in the transfer market, with Ansu Fati and Paul Pogba headlining their summer revamp.

Ansu Fati Set for Medicals This Week
Monaco are in the final stages of talks with FC Barcelona to secure a loan deal with a buy option for Spanish winger Ansu Fati. According to sources, the agreement includes Barcelona covering part of the player’s salary, and medical tests are expected later this week.

The 21-year-old, once seen as Lionel Messi’s natural successor at Camp Nou, spent last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. While injuries hampered his progress, Monaco believe they can revive Fati’s career in Ligue 1 under a more stable development plan.

Paul Pogba Returns to Football with Monaco
In another major move, Paul Pogba has signed a two-year deal with AS Monaco, marking his return to professional football after serving a doping ban.

The 32-year-old midfielder, who was banned for testing positive for DHEA — a substance that boosts testosterone — in 2023, saw his original four-year suspension reduced to 18 months. This came after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) acknowledged the banned substance had minimal effects on male athletes and was taken inadvertently.

Pogba became eligible to play again in March 2025 and has since been linked with multiple clubs across Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East. Though rumors circulated about a potential third return to Manchester United, Pogba has instead chosen Monaco, where he aims to revive his career and compete at the top level.

Pogba’s Turbulent Journey
After rising through Manchester United’s academy, Pogba first left for Juventus in 2012, becoming one of Europe’s top midfielders. He returned to Old Trafford in 2016 for a club-record £89 million fee, but injuries and inconsistency plagued his six-year spell.

Pogba then left United on a free transfer in 2022 to rejoin Juventus, but his second stint in Turin also struggled due to fitness issues.
