LIFE
Alfred Nganga Mutua was born on 22 August 1970 in Masii, Machakos county,
EDUCATION
Mutua started his Education at Guadalupe Catholic Church Nursery School, then to Toi School in Kibera.
After primary school he went to Dagoretti high school where he attained his O level then headed to Jamhuri high school where he attained his A level. He joined Whitworth College in the USA where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism.
Mutua earned his Master’s degree in Communication at Eastern Washington University. He became an active public speaker and Author. His numerous publications and interviews on BBC paved the way for his appointment to the position of the Kenya Government Spokesman during the Late Presidents Mwai kibaki’s administration.
MARRIAGE
Alfred Mutua married Dr Josephine Thitu on the 1st July 2000 at a church ceremony in Nairobi Baptist Ngong Road in the course of the marriage they had three children. The marriage however came to an end in 2015 which led to Josephine relocating with the children to Australia. This followed a battle for children’s custody and property ownership between the two .In 2016 the court dismissed the matrimonial property suit that Mutua had lodged seeking to have the property that was acquired within the course of marriage divided.
Mutua later began a romantic relationship with Lillian Ng’ang’a that came to an end after 7 years in June 2021 that was publicly announced on their social media Accounts.

POLITICAL LIFE
Mutua served as the first governor of Machakos County for two terms; 2013 to 2017 and 2018 to 2022.
Mutua was serving as the Kenyan government spokesman before resigning in 2012 to run for Machakos county Gubernatorial race. He is the founder of the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) Party.
He established MCC on 25 August 2016.Maendeleo Chap Chap was earlier a member of Azimio Coalition and on May 9 2022 he joined the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
AMBITIONS
Mutua announced his entry into the 2022 Presidential Elections on 6 September 2020. He would seek the people’s mandate to serve as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya. Offering creative and innovative ideas to govern the Country, Mutua pledged to help Kenyans to grow wealth and completely eradicate corruption, the vice that has greatly affected service delivery in the country. However, later on in 2022, Mutua dropped his presidential ambition. In May 2022, he drummed his support for William Ruto’s presidential bid. Ruto was voted in as the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya in the August 2022 polls and consequently inaugurated on 13 September 2022.
In the formation of Kenya’s new government, Mutua was announced as the nominated Cabinet Secretary of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs by President William Ruto on 27 September 2022.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap leader was nominated to take over from Raychelle Omamo, Kenya’s outgoing chief diplomat who served under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
