Religious leaders in the North Rift call for the Bi-partisan talks!

The North Rift Inter-religious council has stated that there is a need for the government to engage with the opposition in order to restore tranquility in the country following the deaths and destruction of property witnessed in the county due to mass protests.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, the North Rift Interfaith Chairperson, Rev Geoffrey Songok, said that the tension currently being experienced in the country could lead to violence, hence the need for dialogue.
The Leaders have blamed political hardliners surrounding the president and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga for failed bi-partisan talks
“We would like the government and the opposition to resume the bi-partisan talks , the talks should also engage the religious leaders over critical issues raised by the opposition. Said Sheikh Abubakar Bini.
