Warrant of arrest issued against 4 Uasin Gishu enforcement officers

A warrant of arrest has been issued against four enforcement officers of the Uasin Gishu County government following a complaint registered at Cheptiret Police post in 2018.
The complainant Lear Kering a mother of four says, the said enforcement officers demolished her semi-permanent house at Cheptiret after they found her farm workers brewing Chang’aa and would later carry away 20 Liters of the said brew as exhibit.
The enforcement officers are also reported to have stolen close to Ksh200,000 that was in the said House.
“It is indeed true my farm workers were brewing chang’aa , it was my only way of earning a living and taking care of my children then, the enforcement officers broke down over 5 doors demolishing the entire house including a kitchen , I had about Ksh 200,000 in the house that also went missing”She Opined.
The officers arrested my workers but they should have never demolished my house ,I want justice.Added Leah

An enquiry file 1/2018 was opened and after a long time the said officers wrote their statements after a human Rights defender from the Centre against Torture Kimutai Kirui Complained of police inaction and the County government protection against the suspects.
Kesses sub county Deputy police Commander Jared Mogire says the warrant of arrest has now been issued following the directions from the ODPP .
The warrant of arrest will be executed by the Eldoret Central Police Officer commanding Station.
The arrest warrant comes at a time when the acting Director of Enforcement at the Uasin Gishu County Government, Cosmas Kerich is facing threat to kill charges after threatening a magistrate.
Kerich has been remanded at the Eldoret Gk Remande Prison until Friday pending his pre- bail Report.
