Argentina forward Lautaro Martínez has thrown his support behind international teammate Julián Álvarez as uncertainty continues to surround the striker’s situation at club level.
Martínez revealed that he had personally contacted Álvarez to offer his support, stressing that their competition for a place in Argentina’s attack has not affected their friendship.
The two forwards have regularly competed for a starting role with the Argentina national team, with both players regarded as important figures in the country’s attack.
