President William Ruto called on leaders in Kiambu County to come together in visionary leadership and not be weighed down by rivals who, as he claims, have no realistic agenda for the country. He spoke at State House in Nairobi on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, when he hosted grassroots leaders in the region.
The President implicated his opponents of lacking solutions to address key sectors such as the economy, education, and agriculture. He called upon leaders to concentrate on real solutions that will improve lives rather than being deceived by rhetoric.

Ruto reminded the leaders that the people ultimately have the power to choose who stays in power. He averred that if a leader does not deliver, then the people should be able to kick them out. He stated politicians should not determine who will serve in various positions, since the power is with the voters.

He also indicated that during the 2027 elections, leaders at every level will have to present their scorecards to the public. Ruto pledged Kiambu leaders that he will also present his accomplishments for scrutiny. He asserted that the people, and not politics, will have the final say on who to retain in power.

Ruto stated that his administration is initiating several projects in Kiambu during the meeting. The government, he said, is developing 30 new markets across the county at a total of KSh4.5 billion. He also announced the development of 15,000 units at a total of KSh30 billion, referring to it as one of the largest housing projects in the country.

The President further stated that a 10,000-capacity stadium will be constructed in the town of Thika. He further added that the 240-kilometer Kiambu stretch of the Mau Mau road project will be finished soon. Other ventures are the construction of the Muthaiga-Ndumberi road for KSh22 billion and the upgradation of the Northern Bypass with an allocation of KSh20 billion.

Ruto asked leaders to remain together and not be distracted by people he described as having no direction and vision. He reminded them that unity and committed leadership alone shall provide development goals for the people.
