Kiharu MP ,Ndindi Nyoro has disclosed that his entry into politics was by design and not by accident, elaborating that he dreamed of becoming the constituency’s representative years before joining public life.
When addressing students at ,Kiaguthu High School on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Nyoro recalled a defining moment while at university when he authored a book and, in the author’s biography, stated that he was not only a student but also a ,future Kiharu MP.
This affirmation and conviction at an early stage, he indicated, went a long way in defining his political life, which eventually witnessed him being elected as a Member of Parliament.
“During my time on campus, I wrote a book and in the authors’ page, I stated that I was a student but boldly stated that one day I would be Kiharu MP. Today, I am speaking to you as the holder of that position,” said Nyoro.
The legislator used his life experience to highlight the ,importance of setting personal goals early in life, and encouraged young people to declare their aspirations even if at present they seem unrealizable.
“Whether your dream is to become a politician, businessman, medical doctor, engineer, or professor, most essential is to sketch that vision early,” he urged.
Nyoro also urged students to set down their objectives as a way of charting their own destiny.
“Write down your dreams somewhere because it’s your personal journey—the path you will tread and live through,” he went on.
As he emphasized intentional goal-setting, the MP also advised reconciling aspirations with personal talents and passions, noting that success is more easily attained if one does what one is naturally suited to and loves to do.
Nyoro made his political debut in the ,2017 general elections on a Jubilee Party ticket at the age of ,32,. Contrary to a humble background and a contentious contest, he emerged victorious in the primaries and proceeded to win the August 8 election with approximately ,60,991 votes, defeating his closest opponent who had garnered about 35,181 votes.
His victory was billed as a sensation, particularly because ,Kiharu Constituency ,has historically been represented by prominent political figures, including ,Kenneth Matiba, Gikonyo Kiano, Kembi Gitura, and Irungu Kang’ata.
