The Uganda Golf Club Ladies Open 2025, played at Kitante, showed the close affinity that golf continues to forge across East Africa. The event saw professionals and amateurs show up, exhibiting the rise in popularity of the game in the region.
Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club also remained a key sponsor. While making his speech during the championship, Windsor’s General Manager, James Rattos, declared their involvement was not just about exposure. He commented that sponsorship of the championship is part of the hotel’s efforts to market golf beyond Kenya.
Golf is more than a game. It builds camaraderie across borders, communities, and cultures. As Windsor, we are privileged to walk in tandem with Uganda Golf Club in being flag-bearers of this spirit. In hosting this tournament, we extend our passion for the game across Kenya and celebrate golf as a unifying experience,” Rattos stated.
The three-day tournament was more than competition. It offered players and spectators an opportunity to sit together, share experiences, and bask in the game’s values. According to many participants, the Open was a classic demonstration of how sport promotes team spirit, self-discipline, and respect for each other.
For Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, sponsorship was also about reaffirming itself as Kenya’s finest golf destination. Its championship 18-hole world-class course makes Windsor the epitome of golf excellence. Sponsoring the Ladies Open was therefore a way of showing solidarity with the whole golfing fraternity in East Africa.
The tournament drew a vibrant mix of sportspersons, spectators, and sponsors who all contributed to its success. Their presence served to demonstrate the way that golf is becoming a sport that crosses countries, age groups, and backgrounds.
At the end of the championship, one thing was certain—the UGC Ladies Open had once again proved that golf isn’t everything about competition. It’s about people, bonding, and passion for the sport. The 2025 edition not only cemented Uganda’s golfing reputation but also cemented regional ties, proving that East Africa’s golf spirit continues to get brighter with every new tournament.
