Three KDF Recruits Die During Training in Eldoret

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) announced the death of three recruits who died during their training session at the Defence Forces Recruits Training School (DFRTS) in Eldoret. The KDF reported that recruits developed medical issues during their regular endurance training session. Medical staff at the location conducted immediate treatment before transporting the recruits to Eldoret Regional Hospital for further medical treatment. The three patients died despite all medical intervention efforts.
KDF personnel have delivered formal notifications to the next of kin while they assist the families who are experiencing grief. The Defence Forces extended their deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and to their fellow recruits and colleagues who are mourning their loss.
The military established an investigation to examine the incident according to their standard operating procedures. The research results will indicate which safety measures should be implemented to protect the well-being of trainees at training centers.
