Over 200 employees of Raiply Kenya Ltd have initiated a strike, demanding payment of two months’ salary arrears.
The workers reported arriving at the company’s premises in the morning only to find the gates locked, preventing them from accessing their workstations.
Flora Chebet, representing the employees, stated that the company had previously issued a memorandum promising salary payments by the 29th of each month, a commitment that has not been fulfilled.

Chebet highlighted the financial hardships faced by the workers, noting that some have passed away without receiving their retirement benefits.
The employees estimate that Raiply owes them over Ksh. 40 million in unpaid salaries. They have vowed to continue their protest until their demands are met.
Local Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Kiplombe Ward criticized Raiply for opening a new branch in Nzoia while existing employees remain unpaid.
The MCA called for the company to prioritize settling outstanding salaries before expanding operations.
Raiply Kenya Ltd, once employing over 3,000 workers, has reportedly scaled down its workforce significantly due to financial challenges, with many employees facing delayed salaries and retrenchments.
The striking workers are urging the company to honor its financial obligations and address the ongoing crisis affecting their livelihoods.
